Early voting for primary election begins

The trend in recent B.C. elections has been to more people voting in advance polls and fewer waiting until election day

This year's ballot is two pages, and will require two stamps to be mailed in.

In North Carolina, the first sitting congressional representative this year lost a primary challenge - Rep. Robert Pittenger in North Carolina's 9th Congressional District.

May 8, 2018 - SACRAMENTO - California voters who choose to vote by mail can expect to see their ballots begin arriving in the coming days.

Roughly 1 out of every 25 registered voters in North Carolina have cast ballots before Tuesday's primary elections, which lack statewide races but include heated local contests that appear to be boosting turnout. Voters in these counties will also have the option to vote in person at any vote center.

Eden Feldstein, of Sylvania Township, drove to his designated polling location on his lunch break to ensure he cast his ballot. The victor is expected to face a tough general election fight against a strong Democratic challenger in the GOP-leaning district, and the race to the right in the primary hasn't done Pittenger any favors.
